Song of the Grey Heron, The (Sekanyolya)

MARSH flowers are my curtain,
    Soft rushes my bed,
The green feathered papyrus
    Waves over my head.
                Dark grey are the shadows,
    Dark brown is the pool,
The soft moonlight above me
    Shines silver and cool.
The night wind croons while I slumber,
The ripples rock me to sleep,
The most beautiful place in this beautiful world
Is my home in the marshes deep.
